Our History: A Legacy of Distinguished Service

About Mu Alpha Chapter
Mu Alpha has been an active Alpha Phi Omega chapter at Georgetown University for nearly 55 years. The chapter pledges countless service hours each week to the Washington metropolitan area, strengthening the spirit of service that is so important to this fraternity.

Mu Alpha is not simply a service organization. As a fraternity, fellowship within the brotherhood plays an important part in the success of this chapter. Each semester we commit ourselves to a six to seven week pledging process that brings a new group of closely knit friends into the fraternity.

Mu Alpha also strives to maintain close relations with alumni, an effort reflected in phenomenal alumni participation in numerous service projects and fraternity ceremonies each semester.

Brothers and sisters of Mu Alpha are wholly responsible for the success of the chapter. Coordinating service projects, serving on the Executive Committee, and acting as a Big Brother are a few of the ways in which members may lead this fraternity. Mu Alpha Chapter's continued success demonstrates the leadership capacities of its brothers and sisters.
